PSPSR Study Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) organized an Art and Religion Study Forum combined with an iftar gathering on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 15:30 (WIB). The event took place in Room 407, 4th Floor, Graduate School Building, UGM, and was exclusively held for the PSPSR academic community.

The session was moderated by I Made Christian Wiranata Rediana and opened with remarks from the Head of the PSPSR Master’s Program, Dr. Rr. Paramitha Dyah Fitriasari, S.Ant., M.Hum. On this occasion, I Made Andi Arsana, Ph.D., who is often referred to as Bli Andi, attended as the keynote speaker.

Carrying the theme “Dharma Ning Nusantara: Stillness, Faith, and Humanity in the Midst of a Noisy World”, Bli Andi shared his experiences engaging with colleagues and friends from diverse religious backgrounds. He emphasized the importance of mutual respect amid Indonesia’s rich cultural and ethnic diversity. In his presentation, he highlighted the contribution of religion in everyday life, on how spiritual values can move from the self to the world, and in turn, how the world shapes the self.

The discussion unfolded in a relaxed and warm atmosphere. Participants brought takjil (light snacks for breaking the fast) to share in a potluck-style gathering. This sense of togetherness encouraged the exchange of ideas and personal experiences, fostering empathy and curiosity, making the dialogue more meaningful and engaging.

This activity also aligns with the institution’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

  • SDG 4 (Quality Education), by providing a reflective academic forum that enriches interdisciplinary and interfaith perspectives.
  • SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), by promoting inclusivity and respect for cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity.
  • SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), through strengthening values of tolerance, dialogue, and mutual understanding within the academic community.

Through this initiative, PSPSR UGM continues to foster a learning environment that not only emphasizes academic excellence but also nurtures humanity and solidarity in social life. (NA)
