Community Service

The Performing Arts and Visual Arts Study Program consistently and systematically since its establishment in 1991, has struggled with the people to the grassroots to build and prosper Indonesia. PSPSR continues to encourage an increase in the quantity and quality of research-based community service in Indonesia and internationally with the principles of sustainable development. The status of UGM as stated in Government Regulation number 67 of 2013 states that UGM has a vision as a pioneer of world-class national universities that are superior and innovative, serving the interests of the nation and humanity imbued with national cultural values based on Pancasila. UGM gradually builds community service leadership, among others, to disseminate the good values of Indonesian art and humanity.

UGM's vision is implemented through the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely: education, research, and community service. UGM's is not only to carry out education for its students, but also to carry out research and develop innovation, as well as the preservation and development of superior and beneficial knowledge for society.

Community service is an integral part of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, which in its implementation is inseparable from the other two Dharmas and involves all academicians: lecturers, students, educational staff and alumni. Through community service, UGM is present in the midst of the Indonesian people.

The management of the implementation of community service activities at UGM is coordinated by the UGM Directorate of Community Service in accordance with Rector Regulation Number 1 / P / SK / KHT / 2015 concerning Position and Details of Organizational Duties at Gadjah Mada University and assisted by the Service and Research unit at the Faculty / SPS / SV / Study Centers / Field laboratories and other supporting units within UGM.
