Yogyakarta, July 10, 2026 – The Graduate Program in Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies (PSPSR) at the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) received a working and benchmarking visit from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FSRD) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS). The meeting, which focused on the governance of the doctoral program, was held on Friday, July 10, at 10:00 AM WIB, in Meeting Room C, 5th Floor, Graduate School Building, UGM.

The delegation from FSRD UNS was attended directly by the Vice Dean for Academic and Research Affairs of FSRD UNS, Dr. Desy Nurcahyanti, S.Sn., M.Hum.; the Head of the Master’s Program in Fine Arts UNS, Dr. Sayid Mataram, S.Sn., M.Sn.; along with academic support staff. The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources of the UGM Graduate School, Dr. techn. Khabib Mustofa, S.Si., M.Kom.; the Head of the Doctoral Program in PSPSR UGM, Dr. Sri Margana, M.Hum., M.Phil.; and the Head of the Master’s Program in PSPSR UGM, Dr. Paramitha Dyah Fitriasari, M.Hum.

The main agenda of this benchmarking focused on the presentation of the curriculum of the PSPSR UGM Doctoral Program. This step was taken as part of a mutual effort to share best practices in managing advanced education in the fields of arts and humanities. Through the presentation, both institutions exchanged insights, followed by an interactive question-and-answer session.

This governance benchmarking activity aligns with Universitas Gadjah Mada’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly the following points:

  • SDG 4 (Quality Education): This activity contributes directly to improving the quality of higher education. Academic governance discussions ensure that the curriculum remains relevant, inclusive, and capable of producing competent doctoral graduates in the fields of arts and culture.
  • SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): The meeting between PSPSR UGM and FSRD UNS is a tangible manifestation of collaboration between state universities. This strategic partnership aims to mutually enhance institutional capacity, share knowledge, and strengthen academic governance for the advancement of higher education in Indonesia. (NA)
