Entering the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, the Performing Arts and Arts Studies Study Program (PSPSR) at Universitas Gadjah Mada held an inaugural meeting titled “Through the Layers“. The event, which took place on Monday, February 9, 2026, served as an official welcome momentum for new Master’s (S2) and Doctoral (S3) students, hosted by the Head of the Master’s Program, Dr. Rr. Paramitha Dyah F., S.Ant., M.Hum., and the Head of the Doctoral Program, Dr. Sri Margana, M.Hum., M.Phil. Located in Meeting Room A, UGM Graduate School Building, this activity was designed as an orientation bridge for students to adapt to the campus atmosphere while understanding applicable academic procedures.
The event opened with a warm welcome from the study program management. During the session, students were provided with an in-depth overview of PSPSR’s vision and mission, as well as academic-related matters. A warm and friendly atmosphere filled the room as the students began interacting and introducing themselves.
The meeting concluded with a group photo session as a symbol of the beginning of their collective academic journey. The spirit and enthusiasm shown throughout the event are expected to serve as a strong initial foundation for the students in pursuing their studies at PSPSR UGM.
The organization of “Through the Layers” is a tangible expression of UGM Graduate School’s contribution to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly focusing on two main points:
- SDG 4 (Quality Education): Ensuring inclusive and quality higher education for prospective arts researchers and practitioners.
- SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): Building strong partnerships among academics to achieve shared goals in the development of science and knowledge.
