​Following the sacred ceremony at the university level, the festivities continued at the UGM School of Postgraduate Studies (SPs) building. Located in the 5th Floor Auditorium, SPs UGM held a special farewell event for the graduates. This event served as a form of appreciation for the dedication of students who completed their advanced studies amidst challenging academic dynamics. The Master’s Program in Performance Arts and Visual Arts Studies (PSPSR) officially held a Coordination Meeting for the 2025/2026 Academic Year on Thursday, 5 February 2026. The meeting, conducted virtually via Zoom, served as a vital moment for the faculty to align their academic vision and technical preparations ahead of the upcoming semester.

​The session was led by Dr. Rr. Paramitha Dyah F., M.Hum. In her presentation, Dr. Paramitha emphasized the importance of comprehensive preparation, ranging from reviewing lesson plans to confirming the composition of course lecturers. Attended by Promoters and Co-Promoters, the meeting was conducted virtually via Google Meet as part of an ongoing effort to maintain academic quality and ensure the smooth completion of student studies. ​The meeting was chaired directly by the Head of the PSPSR Doctoral Program, Dr. Sri Margana, M.Hum., M.Phil. Held from 10:00 to 11:30 WIB, the meeting was attended directly by the new Head of the Program, Dr. Sri Margana, M.Hum., M.Phil., along with PSPSR doctoral students.​

Unlike typical formal meetings, this session was conducted in a warm and inclusive atmosphere. The main agenda included an introduction and a discussion on the progress of the students’ ongoing dissertation research. The Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada held a handover ceremony for the Heads of Study Programs on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the Auditorium of the UGM Graduate School Building. The event was attended by all Heads of Study Programs within the Graduate School, reflecting a collective commitment to maintaining leadership continuity and strengthening academic governance.

​During the procession, the positions for the 2026–2031 period were officially handed over as follows:

• ​Doctoral Program (S3) in Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies (PSPSR): The position was officially transferred from Dr. Budi Irawanto, S.IP., M.A. to Dr. Sri Margana, M.Hum., M.Phil.
• ​Master’s Program (S2) in Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies (PSPSR): The position is now held by Dr. Rr. Paramitha Dyah Fitriasari, M.Hum.

​The ceremony was followed by an internal socialization session for the PSPSR Study Programs from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM WIB in Room 305. Yogyakarta – In an effort to reweave fragments of national identity through the lens of performing arts, the community engagement program entitled “Nusa Budaya”, initiated by the Study Program of Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies, conducted a Plate Dance (Tari Piring) Workshop on 28–29 November 2025. The workshop involved 18 female child participants at Sanggar Savina and was conceived not merely as a transfer of motor skills, but as an initiative to decentralize aesthetics amid the strong dominance of Javanese court dance (pakem kraton) traditions deeply rooted in the region. read more

This activity was part of the community engagement program “Nusa Budaya: Narratives for a Cultured Society”, an arts-based initiative aimed at strengthening the creative capacity of rural communities while bridging academic practice with local social dynamics. Through this program, students were encouraged not only to apply theoretical knowledge, but also to critically examine the relevance of artistic scholarship within the context of community empowerment. read more

Conducted over three days, this activity formed part of the community engagement program “Nusa Budaya: Narratives for a Cultured Society”, an initiative that positions artistic practice as a medium for strengthening social relations, transmitting cultural values, and enhancing the quality of life within rural communities. Through this program, students not only examined the social relevance of karawitan scholarship, but also accompanied older adults as active and productive cultural practitioners. read more
