PSPSR UGM Received a Visit from Department of Art and Design, State University of Malang

On Friday, August 9, 2024, the Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies Program (PSPSR) at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) received a visit from the Department of Art and Design, Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang (UM). The visit was attended by 30 lecturers from the Department of Art and Design, Faculty of Letters, UM.

The event took place in Meeting Room A, 5th floor, UGM Graduate School Building. The delegation from UM was led by the Department Chair, Dr. Wida Rahayuningtyas, M.Pd., who also serves as the Coordinator of the Dance and Music Arts Education Study Program. Also present in the delegation were the Coordinator of the Visual Arts Education Study Program, Dr. Ike Ratnawati, M.Pd., and the Coordinator of the Visual Communication Design Study Program, Andreas Syah Pahlevi, M.Sn.

The PSPSR UGM team who received this visit were Dr. Paramitha Dyah Fitriasari, M.Hum. (Head of the PSPSR Master’s Program), Dr. G.R. Lono Lastoro Simatupang, M.A. (Coordinator of Quality Assurance for the Master’s Program), and Ike Niken Salindri, M.A. (Academic and Financial Staff of the Program). In the meeting, Dr. Paramitha from PSPSR introduced the Identity, Vision, Mission, Learning Characteristics, Graduate Profile, Expected Learning Outcomes, and Curriculum of the PSPSR Master’s and Doctoral Programs. Dr. Lono also explained the background of the formation of the PSPSR Study Program and the direction of the curriculum development until now. All the audience present seemed enthusiastic and the dialogue took place in a friendly atmosphere.

This visit aims to strengthen academic relations between the two institutions, and to share experiences and knowledge in the field of art and education. This meeting is expected to open up opportunities for further cooperation between PSPSR UGM and the Department of Art and Design, UM in the future. This activity also serves as an effort to support SDGs 4 (Quality Education) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). (AU)
