On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held the Graduation Ceremony for the Postgraduate Program, Period III of the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The event took place at Grha Sabha Pramana Building and was attended by graduates from various study programs under the auspices of UGM.
The graduation ceremony was officially opened by the Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada, Prof. Dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med.Ed., Sp.OG(K)., Ph.D., who, in her address, expressed her pride in the achievements of all graduates and conveyed her hopes that they would contribute their knowledge to the advancement of the nation and the welfare of society. In this period, UGM conferred degrees upon 1,455 graduates across multiple postgraduate levels, including Master, Specialist, and Doctoral programs.
Following the main ceremony at Grha Sabha Pramana, graduation celebrations continued with ceremonial events organized by each faculty and postgraduate school. The Graduate School (Sekolah Pascasarjana – SPs) also hosted a graduation ceremony for its 115 graduates, including six graduates from the Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies Program (PSPSR). On this occasion, the PSPSR Program made an exceptional contribution by presenting a musical and vocal performance dedicated to all graduates and guests.
This performance not only served as entertainment but also embodied the artistic and cultural values that are integral to the education provided by PSPSR. Through this artistic contribution to the graduation ceremony, the Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies Program (PSPSR) of Universitas Gadjah Mada reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Quality Education (SDG 4), by producing graduates who excel academically and are creatively empowered in the fields of art and culture. The success of this event also reflected the spirit of Partnership for the Goals (SDG 17), highlighting the crucial synergy among students, faculty members, and the institution in achieving sustainable and impactful education.
Throughout the event, an atmosphere of emotion and joy prevailed, reflecting the students’ long journey, struggles, and dedication
in completing their studies. The occasion also served as a moment of appreciation, during which awards were presented to outstanding students—those who achieved the highest cumulative Grade Point Averages (GPAs) in their respective study programs. These awards were given as a tribute to the hard work, perseverance, and exceptional academic achievements demonstrated throughout their education at Universitas Gadjah Mada.
