The Performing Arts and Fine Arts Study Doctoral Study Program is holding a series of Gladhi Nalar events to Bangkok, Thailand on August 6-9 2023. This activity is a means for doctoral students to be able to develop and gain a broader academic perspective, specifically in relation to ongoing student dissertation research.

On the first day, the visit was aimed at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA). This private museum consisting of 5 floors is located in Chatuchak, Bangkok. After that, the trip continues by visiting the Big Bee Garden, Bangkok, which is a place for honey beekeeping education with all kinds of production.

On the second day, the visit was addressed to Silpakorn University, Bangkok. There are two sessions at Silpakorn University. In the first session, all students from PSPSR UGM were invited to attend a class session led by Assistant Professor Dr. Jirawat Vongphantuset. The second session was in the form of an academic sharing forum presented by two PSPSR PhD students, one Silpakorn University PhD student and a doctoral alumni from Silpakorn University. The two sessions were held at the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Anthropology Centre.

On the third day, all participants of the Reasoning Exercise visited Srinakharinwirot University, still located in Bangkok. At Shrinakarinwirot University, academic sharing and discussion took place with presentations on dissertation topics from two PSPSR PhD students and two PhD students from Shrinakarinwirot University. Afterwards, lecturers from each campus provided their responses and input on the material presented by the doctoral students.

Afterwards, the participants of the Gladhi Nalar also had the opportunity to visit the Grand Palace in Bangkok and Wat Arun Temple after previously walking along the Chaopraya river to get to these two places.

The participants returned to Indonesia on August 9 via Don Mueang airport, Bangkok.
