BUMI MENGGUGAT

This 2014 student of the Performing Arts and Visual Arts Study Program held a community service activities calls “BUMI MENGGUGAT”. The activity was carried out on 24-30 May 2015 in Kepek Hamlet, Timbulharjo District, Sewon District, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region Province. The training was held for 5 (five) days on 24-29 May 2015 and closed with a collaborative performance from the results of the training on 30 May 2015. The activity was opened with the introduction of students as facilitators and activity assistants. May 24 2015 started with training in making cardboard puppets. A total of 65 (sixty five) training participants were divided into 5 groups of wayang making, namely: 1) animals, 2) sea animals, 3) plants, 4) fantasy creatures and ghosts, 5) buildings, vehicles, and so on. Furthermore, on 25-29 May 2015, training in dance, music and theatre was held. Various trainings were packaged in a performance on May 30, 2015 at the Dusun Kepek Joglo Pintar. The performances are in sequence: a parade of children performing hand made wayang, dance, theatre, and closed with shadow puppets. All of these performances are based on the problem of human-caused damage to the earth, for example the tug of war between farmers and the construction of shopping centres, the pros and cons that occur in the community, the narrowing of green land, and etc.
