Expected Learning Outcomes (Master Program) ELOs 1: Paying respect to cultural diversity and authentic findings of others

ELOs 2: Able to balance textual/artistic and contextual/non artistic scholarly perspectives in performing arts and visual arts studies

Credit Specification (Programme Structure and Requirement) 10 Compulsory Subject, 6 Competencies Subject (4 subject on Performing Arts, 2 subject on Visual Arts), 8 Unique Competencies, divided into 4 group of Competencies (according to similarity of the academic substances): (1) Dance, (2) Music, (3) Theatre, (4) Visual Arts.
Entry Requirements 1.   Have passed the undergraduate program education in performing arts and visual arts or related fields

2.   Have passed the entrance test (see each year option at http://um.ugm.ac.id)

Teaching & Learning Method Naturally uses STAR Paradigm; In Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies, STAR was elaborated with STAR-ARBU to accommodate the needs of analyzing artistic phenomena. STAR-ARBU consists of the uniqueness of Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies, which includes (1) A means arts: Performing arts and visual arts (The change of specific interests, such as dance, music, theater, painting, fine arts, film, photography, etc .) into performing arts and visual arts); (2) R means research that is multi and interdisciplinary; (3) B means beyond paradigm; and (4) U means up to date where Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies offers performance studies and visual culture.

Major STAR used: Problem Based Learning, Case based Learning, Self-directed Learning, etc.

Assessment Using different Assessment culture specified for the 5 type of Teaching Learning culture. Stressed mostly on Formative Assessment than Summative Assessment.

(1) Weekly Assessment: Presentation and discussion

(2) Midterms (UTS): Project/Tasks (paper, case studies, observations, field studies)

(3) Final semester examinations (UAS): Project/Tasks (paper, case studies, observations, field studies)

(4) Graduation Theses: Theses Defence Assessment

Using E-A (0-4) grading scale.

Graduate Profile Art Researcher
• A researcher in the field of arts, capable of designing and organizing multi- and interdisciplinary research with art-related subjects.

Academic in Art Studies
• An academic capable of producing studies on arts from a multi- and interdisciplinary perspective and approach.

Art Critic
• A critic who can generate critical writings and insights on art phenomena.

Art Curator
• A curator who understands and applies multi- and interdisciplinary perspectives in curatorial activities.

Art Manager
• A manager in the arts sector, capable of managing arts management practices.

Art Activist
• An individual involved in organizing communities using art as a medium.
