‘Beyond the Gate’: PSPSR UGM Welcomes New Master’s and Doctoral Students

On Monday, August 5, 2024, the Study Program of Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies (PSPSR) at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held an event to welcome new master’s and doctoral students. The event, titled “Beyond the Gate,” took place in the Meeting Room A on the 5th floor of the UGM Graduate School.

The event was attended by Dr. Rr. Paramitha Dyah Fitriasari, M.Hum., Head of the Master’s Program; Dr. Budi Irawanto, S.I.P., M.A., Head of the Doctoral Program; Dr. G.R. Lono Lastoro Simatupang, M.A., Coordinator of Quality Assurance for the Master’s Program; Dr. Yohanes Tri Mastoyo Jati Kesuma, M.Hum., Coordinator of Quality Assurance for the Doctoral Program; and Ike Niken Salindri, M.A., Academic and Financial Staff. Also present were the homebase lecturers of the PSPSR study program, including Dr. Bambang Pudjasworo, S.ST., M.Hum., and Prof. Dr. Heddy Shri Ahimsa-Putra, M.A., M.Phil.

The event was opened by Dr. Paramitha, who welcomed the new students. In her presentation, Dr. Paramitha explained the identity of the study program, its vision and mission, the characteristics of learning at PSPSR, and the profile of PSPSR graduates. She continued by discussing the master’s curriculum and its monitoring and evaluation process. Dr. Budi then elaborated on similar topics related to the doctoral students. Dr. Paramitha concluded the first session by explaining the study program’s activities, online media, and the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the program’s activities.

Following the first session, the event continued with introductions from each participant, starting with the homebase lecturers, followed by the new and returning students. In the fall semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, PSPSR welcomed a total of 17 new master’s students and 3 new doctoral students.

The event was conducted warmly, with Dr. Paramitha and Dr. Budi expressing their hopes that the students would enjoy their studies at PSPSR UGM, take full advantage of the learning opportunities, and graduate on time with excellent results. (AU)
