The event was opened by remarks by the Deputy Dean for Academic, Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Widyanto Dwi Nugroho, S.Hut., M.Agr. In his speech, Dr. Widyanto said that this collaboration was exciting, considering that Indonesia and Malaysia are allied countries and have many things that can be explored in terms of academics and community service.
The delegation from Malaysia represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Syamsul Bahrin Zaibon welcomed the offer from Dr. Widyanto and agreed that as allied countries, it is necessary to increase cooperation in terms of research, publication, education (teaching), and community service. Because, especially in Malaysia, the issue of community service still needs to be explored further.
Next, Dr. Rr. Paramitha Dyah Fitriasari, M.Hum., as Head of the Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies Masters Study Program, introduced profiles, flagship programs, and collaborations that had carried out by Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies as a starting guide for a discussion exploring cooperation. From this explanation, there have been many collaborations carried out by Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies, both nationally and internationally. Therefore, Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies have the opportunity to increase the cooperation with UUM, USIM, and UPSI to increase knowledge, joint research, service and others that are constructive and need each other.
The next event is a sharing session and exploration of cooperation. The Head of the Performing Arts and the Visual Arts Studies Doctoral Study Program, Dr. Budi Irawanto, S.I.P., M.A., led this event. Mas Budi, a film researcher, is delighted with this collaboration opportunity. He offered several Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies programs in 2023 and invited delegates to discuss what could further explore programs with this collaboration. This is in line with what was conveyed by the Head of Quality Assurance for Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies, Dr. G.R. Lono Simatupang, who stated that this collaboration hoped will be able to add to the internationalization aspects of both parties.
